I've been away for a long time, just waiting patiently. Haven't even kept up with the state of the game. Is it still "a thing"? Is there an alpha or beta that backers can try out? I've been out of the loop and not really sure where to start looking for answers. Hoping someone out there can guide me.

No alpha or beta yet. We've been able to pick settlements and domains on an interactive map. If you're not a mayor or above (which I presume not at Rank 1) then you've not missed anything substantial.
