"Next Topic" When Reading Dev Journals Broken

I'll preface this by saying that I have gotten a lot of enjoyment out of the dev journals because I am not only psyched for this game and all its novel mechanics, but my atrocious memory has resulted in my re-reading the dev journals a few times.

Unfortunately, I have found it very difficult to read through the dev journals for two reasons. One is that there is not a list available with hyperlinks...you have to click "Load more items" at the bottom of the page about 20 times to get back in history (double edged sword of having so much content :)). The second issue is what this post is for. When I'm reading through the dev journals, sometimes when I hit "next topic", the site leaps back to the same screen as if you had just selected the "Dev Journals" option under the Community tab. Not only this, but after this happens, the "Load more items" button at the bottom of that page stops working after the above bug.

Due to the first issue I mentioned above (needing to go back through so much content), the second is a pain in the neck. If you have any ideas as to how this might be fixed (on either your end or mine), I'd appreciate the tip!

P.S. If it matters, I'm on PC using Chrome as my browser.

We have a nice forum post that has all the dev journals and Q&As linked on it. https://chroniclesofelyria.com/forum/topic/18045/design-journal-master-list

I haven't visited the page in a minute so I'm not sure how up to date it is, but it should be quite useful :D

Also keep in mind while you dig up old DJs that the further back you go, the more likely you may find some outdated information as the game is still in development and pruning that old info would take a lot of man hours.

I can confirm.

When you press the Next Article button from this page: https://chroniclesofelyria.com/blog/13258/Ideas-to-Reality it does not take you to the next article. The reason is that the link sends you to blog 13620 instead of 13621. The Next Article link should be updated to: https://chroniclesofelyria.com/blog/13621/Merriment-in-Increments

When you press the Next Article button from this page: https://chroniclesofelyria.com/blog/19440/A-Story-Developing it does not take you to the next article. The link and the wording below the link say it is supposed to go to an article called "Tokens of Elyria".

As far as I can tell the blog "Tokens of Elyria" doesn't exist anymore. Doing an internet search, I see it was once a blog with the following description: "A summary of March activities, plus a new interview with Caspian! Learn more inside our latest CJ!" As such, the Next Article link and the wording below should be changed to "Biodiversity is Key": https://chroniclesofelyria.com/blog/20016/Biodiversity-is-Key

And so the Previous Article button on this page: https://chroniclesofelyria.com/blog/20016/Biodiversity-is-Key doesn't work either. As such, the Previous Article link and wording below the link should be changed to "A Story Developing": https://chroniclesofelyria.com/blog/19440/A-Story-Developing

When you press the Next Article button from this page: https://chroniclesofelyria.com/blog/22274/Community-Journal-No-Tricks-Only-Treats it does not take you to the next article. The reason is because the link takes you to blog 22811 instead of 22819. And so the Next Article link should be updated to: https://chroniclesofelyria.com/blog/22819/Community-Journal-Giving-Thanks

When you press the Next Article button from this page: https://chroniclesofelyria.com/blog/23070/Things-Are-Starting-to-Wrap-Up it does not take you to the next article. The reason is because the link takes you to blog 23125 instead of 23127. And so the Next Article link should be updated to: https://chroniclesofelyria.com/blog/22819/Community-Journal-Giving-Thanks

When you press the Next Article button from this page: https://chroniclesofelyria.com/blog/24270/The-Cardinal-Miracle-of-the-Second-Age it does not take you to the next article. The reason is because the link takes you to blog 24500 instead of 24502. And so the Next Article link should be updated to: https://chroniclesofelyria.com/blog/24502/Sense-of-Identity-Character-Creation-Update

When you press the Next Article button from this page: https://chroniclesofelyria.com/blog/29503/Solving-Title-Problems it does not take you to the next article. The reason is because the link takes you to blog 29564 instead of 29565. And so the Next Article link should be updated to: https://chroniclesofelyria.com/blog/29565/Community-Journal-November-2018

When you press the Next Article button from this page: https://chroniclesofelyria.com/blog/30657/State-of-Elyria-The-Calm-Before-the-Storm it does not take you to the next article. The reason is because the link and the wording below the link is for "The Cardinal of the Second Age" which is from the year prior. Both the link and wording should be changed to "The Flower Festivals of the Pilgrimage of Renewal": https://chroniclesofelyria.com/blog/30754/The-Flower-Festivals-of-the-Pilgrimage-of-Renewal

And so the Previous Article button on this page: https://chroniclesofelyria.com/blog/30754/The-Flower-Festivals-of-the-Pilgrimage-of-Renewal doesn't work either as both the link and wording below the link are for the blog from a year prior. Both the link and wording should be changed to "State of Elyria: The Calm Before the Storm": https://chroniclesofelyria.com/blog/30657/State-of-Elyria-The-Calm-Before-the-Storm

There is a duplicate blog of "The Flower Festivals of the Pilgrimage of Renewal" but with the link name of "The Cardinal Miracle of the Second Age" seen here: https://chroniclesofelyria.com/blog/30754/The-Cardinal-Miracle-of-the-Second-Age. This should be deleted.

There is no Previous Article button on https://chroniclesofelyria.com/blog/2/Dev-Journal-2-Introducing-the-Proteus-Engine. It should be added and take the user to: https://chroniclesofelyria.com/blog/1/Dev-Journal-1-Humble-Beginnings

Thank you Labbe and Protey! That forum link is going to be bookmarked, lickety-split.

Although I know that rereading the old design journals does include out of date information, I'm reading from oldest to newest, so I am getting my updates in chronological order :)

Thanks again!

Part of the issue is the way the site creates the next article links. They are created even if a story is unpublished, and then not removed. So sometimes we make a blog, but have to unpublish it or change it to something else, and the code isn't as friendly at resolving that itself.

This behavior is expected to improve in v3 of the site.

Thank you for your efforts!
