Two Moons Government
Two Moons will be governed as a Commonwealth. While Jaxiel and Gorawyn will be the voices of the people within Two Moons to the Royalty, the real power within Two Moons will lie in the hands of the people.
A council of representatives will meet on a regular basis to inform the Count and Countess of the county’s needs and desires. The council will vote on major decisions or changes and the Count and Countess will enact and enforce them.
Elections
Elections will be held for major offices and positions within the county. In the absence of candidates willing to run, the Count and Countess reserve the right to appoint active members of the community to any open position. These appointees will hold the position until such point as someone steps forward to claim it. Should the current holder wish to remain in the position, an election will happen as normal. Your representatives will be common folk and gentry alike.
Baronies and Mayordoms
Barons and Baronesses within the County will work with Count Jaxiel and our chosen Duke or Duchess to enable the defense of the county should it be needed. They will be provided with mounts, supplies, and gear from the county as a whole in order to enable them to do their job well. If they fail in their duty the citizens of the county can enact laws from the Commonwealth charter to withhold future supplies and currency provided to their Barony.
Mayors will preside over the agriculture, trade, and production of goods. It will be their job to provide governance to the farmers, craftsmen and general citizens of their holdings within the county. Successful Mayors that are shown to have the common good of their citizens in mind will receive loans from the county to fund the enterprises and businesses within their settlements. Those that do not manage their holdings effectively will receive no support from the county.
Guilds, Organizations, Schools and Associations
Guild Masters and Mistresses will be welcomed and encouraged to band together with the artisans and professionals to bring wealth and fame to our county. They will hold positions on the council to advise the Count and Countess during council meetings. A guild must have more than five members and be approved by the Count and Countess in order to secure a place on the council. They must have a declared purpose and common goal which benefits the county in order to be approved as an official guild of Two Moons. Unofficial guilds are welcomed but receive no vote in county meeting until the prerequisites are met.
